all hail the king.

(he had exquisite style, i loved his little cap'n crunch outfits!)

honestly i'm so hurt right now.

the memorial service was so touching.

although i wasn't an 80s baby, I grew up listening to the Jackson 5 and Michael Jackson.

i remember we had a vhs tape of some of his music videos. the video for "bad" was the first one i ever saw....i was absolutely amazed. and he continued to amaze us all throughout his lifetime.

Michael Jackson was truly an pop culture icon.

most importantly he was a person.

who will be seriously missed by the world.

rest in peace.

the stars at night...

...are big and bright, (clap clap clap clap) deep in the heart of TEXAS.

10 days until I'm home in the big TX. I can't wait to go home and just relax and chill (even though in the back of my mind I know it's not going to be like that), these days are going by so slow.

I don't want to waste this summer complaining about being bored so I've comprised a list of goals I want to accomplish before the summer is over...
summer goals:
1. create more art.
2. start making my own clothes.
3. see every spike lee film. (I've already started on this one)
4. read more books.
5. specifically read more feminist literature.
5. finish reading watchmen, so i can see the movie. (i refuse to do this the other way around)
6. drink more water.
7. eat healthier.
8. get a mohawk? or shave my head completely. (maybe...?)
9. get braces off...FOR GOOD.
10. take really good care of my skin, hair, nails, etc.
11. go to more shows/concerts. (seeing grizzly bear on june 15th!)
12. get adequate sleep.
13. bake! lots!
14. save up for a Digital SLR camera
15. travel to Atlanta.
16. go to the beach (Galveston or Corpus, which is better?)
I want summer NOW. only 10 days....

a while ago jeremy scott put out a line for adidas originals, i NEED these shoes. they're so sick!even though i'd probably be to chicken to wear them (i've heard stories of people getting robbed of their kicks!) i love them. i just need about $300 to buy them...:/

in other news...i think i want to go natural with my hair? i've been thinking about it for a while, i might get braids or something this summer then cut off all the relaxed ends when it grows out a little. i'm just so impatient and i have slow hair growth (this could be due to relaxers). i dont know, maybe if some one can convince me its worth it then i might do it. it seems like nearly every black girl in seattle has natural hair, and for good reason considering its hard to maintain a straight 'do with this weather!

hola.

i'm trying to start this blog thing again. i tried once and it failed miserably. i'm really not that interesting but i'll try to be. :)

this will document my journey through college and this new city (seattle). even though i've been here for several months it still feels brand new. everyday i try and figure out what i'm doing here. i never thought i'd end up in this place.
